What the City Won't Take on Bulk Trash Day (And What To Do About It)
Every spring, Middletown and Newburgh run bulk trash pickup by ward. Most homeowners don't realize how much the city actually rejects — and end up with a pile sitting there after the truck passes.
The city typically won't take: tires, electronics, TVs, air conditioners, paint cans, propane tanks, construction debris, or more than a set number of bulk items per household.
If any of those are in your pile, you have two options: haul it yourself to the transfer station, or call a junk removal company before the pickup date to clear what the city won't touch.
Powell's Pickup handles all of it — same-day available, minimum 1 item. Don't let it sit another season.
Pro tip: Call at least 2 days before your ward's pickup date. Spots fill fast once bulk trash season starts and everyone realizes they have the same problem.
